Projects

From cells, code, and behavior. All with and for the mind.

This project aimed to replicate an existing study that reconstructed images seen while inside an fMRI, but we just made it faster.

Alot faster.

Image Reconstruction

Poster titled 'fMRI Image Reconstruction' with team members' names, sections on Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Workflow Diagram, Impact and Future Directions, containing text, diagrams, and images related to neural network models and visual image reconstruction.

Neuonal Computer

We attempted to culture neurons to play a cartpole game, acting in the place of silicon processor, a biological computer.

Scientific research poster titled 'Closed-Loop Control of the CartPole Task Using Neural Activity Recorded from Microelectrode Arrays'. The poster is divided into sections, including Abstract, Fully In-silico Simulation using BRIAN2, Validating the Digital-Neuronal Interface, Neuronal Culture Maintenance, and Next Steps. It contains diagrams, charts, and images of neuronal cultures on plates, along with technical descriptions and references.

Mindfulness & Cognitive States

We investigated cognitive states, finding that focused attention and depression decrease with mindfulness.

Research poster titled 'The individual relationships between depression and various cognitive states under state mindfulness induction vs. controlled storytelling,' featuring sections: Introduction, Results, Methods and Materials, Discussion, and Conclusions, with graphs showing false recognition rates and depression versus focused attention.

Anthrax Mediated Delivery System

Using an isolated protein from anthrax, we effectively brainstormed a cargo delivery system, allowing for DNA modification and protein production in bacteria

Sleep Light Therapy

We found that blue light therapy enables more consistent cycles of sleep, opening up possibilities for future treatments of sleep disorders.

Poster presentation titled 'Analysis of Zeitgeber–Timed Blue Light Exposure & Circadian Rhythm Fragmentation in Aged Rat Models' with sections labeled Introduction, Results, Methods, Discussion, and Conclusion. The poster features several graphs illustrating activity patterns across different Zeitgeber time blocks and activity trends over experimental days.
